Petra Richards is a full time professional artist based in Oxfordshire at the Cotswolds border.

Whilst Petra has traditionally focussed on people portraiture commissions, she has broadened her talent to depicting more colourful subjects and now regularly produces fine detail artwork of animals and classic and retro still life.

 

Her works have been selected to be exhibited at various prestigious exhibitions. Most recently, Petra's art was exhibited at the Pastel Society's 123rd Annual Exhibition and at the Society of Graphic Fine Art's annual exhibition at the Mall Galleries.

 

Petra’s art is well recognised for its exceptional fine detail, vivid colours and life like capture. She is particularly able at bringing her subject' soul into her portraiture through its eyes. She is mainly self-taught and works primarily in coloured pencils and pastels, using various surfaces with techniques, to capture the essence of  the subjects.

She is currently working on three main collections, namely  “British Animals” , “Shades of Soul” and  “Classic and Retro Still Life”.
