Prices vary depending on the size, medium, the amount subjects, composition and background.

Photos
After our initial conversation, and having agreed a price and a timescale, I will ask you for some reference photos, either in a hard copy or in a digital form. I am able to merge more than one photo into one portrait. Good quality photos are highly desirable but not always necessary. I have worked from poor quality photos previously. If I need to combine a number of photos together, I will create mock ups using different compositions for you to choose from. I often travel to take my own reference photos of the subject. I cover Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and Berkshire.

Deposit
Once we have agreed a timescale, size, and composition, I will ask that you pay a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the agreed price. This will enable me to keep my diary free to prepare your portrait. I will not ask for the deposit until two months before I am due to start your commission. I will only be able to start working on your portrait once the deposit has been paid. I will keep you updated as to progress. Once the portrait is finished, I will send you a photo, or will invite you to see the finished piece in person.
Where possible, I much prefer a visit in person as it allows you to get a feel for the portrait. My art is designed not to simply achieve a likeness, but also an emotional attachment. Photos might cause the portrait to appear slightly differently from the way it actually does when viewed in person. This is because the camera does not always pick up all the pigment of the drawing.
Finally, in my experience, working from poor quality photos, including photos taken of photos, might affect the accuracy of the likeness. It is useful for us to view the photo and the portrait at the same time so that you can appreciate the likeness to the photo provided. If there are any minor discrepancies that arise from this, I can usually adjust these on the spot, using your input a guide. It is vital to me that your artwork is perfect, and that you love it.
Framing
&Shipping
Your finished artwork will come in a mount, backed up and wrapped, should you choose not to have it framed. I use great local framers, who have a wide range of styles and experience. I don’t have set frame designs for my art, as each piece is hugely individual and personal. I usually attend the framer's, and decide which designs best fit the portrait. I will send you photos of a couple of different choices, with prices, for you to choose from. Once we decide on the frame, and you are happy with the piece, I will ask you for full payment of the remainder. Once received, the artwork is sent for framing, and is typically ready for collection within two to three weeks.
The price for national and international shipping depends on the size of your artwork and the number of pieces to be sent. I will provide you with an estimate before you pay your deposit. We will be able to track the portrait through a tracking number provided.
